Here's the deal: Intel has been busy shutting everyone else out of their architecture, and in the process, has opened this door. By closing off their processor bus, NVIDIA and AMD have no way to produce a truly competitive chipset, and this is a process that's been going on since Centrino first came out, to the iCore processors. ARM offers a more open, customizable approach, and in an age where more processor speed is unnecessary in most consumer applications, ARM offers no real disadvantages anymore, save compatibility - but that's what cross compilers are for. With Windows 8 arriving on ARM, Intel should damn well be worried, but has no one to blame but themselves.
